Let b=bottle c=cap
Set up equation
since bottle cost $1.00 more than cap, we can rewrite b in terms of c. Let b=c+1
Solve for b
Subtract 1 from both sides
Divide both sides by 2

Cost of cap=$0.05
b=.05+1=1.05
Cost of bottle=$1.05
