Question 691862: Need help please: Use substitution to solve system of equations:

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x-y=8
2x-( y )=8
2x-( 2x - 3 )=8 ... replace y with 2x-3 (since y = 2x - 3)
2x-2x+3=8
0x+3=8
0x=8-3
0x=5
0=5 ... which is ALWAYS FALSE
So there are NO solutions.
The system is inconsistent.
