From the diagram above, we're given f || g (ie lines f and g are parallel)

So the left transversal line makes two supplementary same side interior angles with measures 7x and 2x+36 degrees, so...

7x + (2x+36) = 180

7x + 2x+36 = 180

9x+36 = 180

Keep going to solve for x.
