x 5
----- +1 = -----
x-5 x-5

Thank you again!

Answer by Earlsdon(6294)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve:
Add the fractions on the left side.
Multiply both sides by (x-5) and simplify.
Add 5 to both sides.
Divide both sides by 2.

Check:

Well, as you can see, although you get x=5 as a solution, it clearly is not a solution because you end up with division by zero and this is not defined in math.
So there is no solution to this problem, which simply means that there is no value of x that will satisfy this equation!
