Starting with

Multiply both sides by 2 to eliminate the fraction

Resulting in
x = 2(5x+18)
Distribute the 2
x = 10x + 36
Group like terms
x - 10x = 10x + 36 - 10x
-9x = 36
Divide both sides by -9

x = -4
