Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Starting with
1/4 x (7+3g) = -g/8
1/4(7) + 1/4(3g) = -g/8
7/4 + 3g/4 = -g/8
14/8 + 6g/8 = -g/8
6g/8 + g/8 = -14/8
6g + g = -14
7g = -14
g = -2
Proof
1/4(7+3(-2))=1/4
-(-2)/8 = 1/4
