i tried to start the equation and this is what i got but im still not sure:
2(x+1)+x-6=9(x-6)
please help!!!

It should be
2(x+1)+x-6=9(x-6)
Notice the change in red
In a much cleaner look, the equation should be this
2(x+1) = 9(x-6)

Distribute.
Subtract from both sides.
Subtract from both sides.
Combine like terms on the left side.
Combine like terms on the right side.
Divide both sides by to isolate .
Reduce.
