Below is what I did:
6(x/2)+6(2/3)=5/6
3(1)+2(1)=1
3x+2=5

Multiply BOTH sides by 6. See below.

6(x/2)+6(2/3) = 6(5/6)
---
(6x/2) + (12x/3) = (30/6)

3x + 4x = 5
7x = 5
x = 5/7
