x^2-4x-12=0  Good Work!

(x-6)(x + 2)= 0   

 x = 6  0r x = -2

To check: Use EQ given to You and substitute values found

x^2+(x+2)^2=(x+4)^2

   x = 6 checks

      x = -2 checks
