how do you solve

clear fractions, LCD:16 (multiply each term by the LCD)
16x-8=32x-2
move x-terms to left side and numbers to right side.(change sign when moving term from one side to the other.)
16x-32x=8-2
combine like terms
-16x=6
divide both sides by -16
x=6/-16
reduce to lowest terms
x=-3/8
..
check:
plug in x-values found back into original equation
-3/8-2/4=(2*-3/8)-2/16
-3/8-4/8=-6/8-1/8
-7/8=-7/8
check ok
