Question 62602: 7y-(4-2y)=3(y+3)-1
7x-3(x+6)=14

Answer by funmath(2933)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7y-(4-2y)=3(y+3)-1
7y-4+2y=3y+9-1
9y-4=3y+8
9y-3y-4=3y-3y+8
6y-4=8
6y-4+4=8+4
6y=12
6y/6=12/6

Check, if y=2, do both sides equal?
7(2)-(4-2(2))=3(2+3)-1
14-(4-4)=3(5)-1
14-0=15-1
14=14 We're right!!!
:
7x-3(x+6)=14
7x-3x-18=14
4x-18=14
4x-18+18=14+18
4x=32
4x/4=32/4

Check, if x=8 do both sides equal?
7(8)-3(8+6)=14
56-3(14)=14
56-42=14
14=14
Happy Calculating and Happy Calculating!!!
