I ended up with was x=-5/2. I just want to check to make sure this is correct.
{x/5)+(1/12) = (x/6}

An LCD is used if you are adding or subtracting fractions.
---
Use an LCM (least common multiple) when you have an equation.
---
LCM = 60
---
Multiply thru by the LCM to get:
12x + 5 = 10x
2x = -5
x = -5/2

Do you have a TI-84?

type -5/2
press STO
press X
press ENTER
Type the left side
x/5+1/12
Press ENTER
read -.4166666667

Now type the right side x/6
Press ENTER
read -.4166666667

Since you get the same thing, you're right.
