: From Beginning Algebra Huchison online edition from UOP Chapter 2 section 3 problem 54
6x-1/5 -2x/3 =3
I know I am supposed to get rid of the fractions by multiplying LCM times terms, but does that include the =3? With or without I am so very lost. Your great explanations would be greatly appreciated!

Answer by kayeith(17)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6x - 1/5 - 2x/3 = 3
(6x - 1/5 - 2x/3 = 3)15
90x - 3 - 10x = 15
80 x = 15 + 3
80x = 18
x = 18/80
x = 9 / 40
