Question 572640: translate to an eqation, and show work: SEVEN TIMES WHAT NUMBER IS 201?
Answer by mathsmiles(68) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Ahh, converting words into numbers. Not to panic, just take one little part at a time.
SEVEN TIMES WHAT NUMBER IS 201?
Let's call the number we're looking for X
7 x X = 201
7X = 201
Divide both sides by 7 giving ...,
X = 28.714285714285714...
Are you sure you copied it correctly? That's an unusual answer.
My guess is it should have been SEVEN TIMES WHAT NUMBER IS 210?
If that's the case, do the steps I did and you'll get a simpler answer, plus a chance to try this on your own.
Good luck!
