Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
fisher caught 13%, or 32 kg, of the fish caught during a season.
What was the total catch during the season?
13% of the fish caught during the season is 32 kg.
let x equal the total amount of fish caught during the season.
you would get
13% of x = 32 kg
13% = .13 decimal equivalent.
formula becomes:
.13 * x = 32 kg
divide both sides of the equation by .13 to get:
x = 32/.13 kg which makes:
x = 246.1538462 kg.
that's the total amount of fish that was caught during the season.
the fisher caught 13% of that this means the fisher caught .13 * 246.1538462 which means the fisher caught 32 kg of fish.
