Question 547890: 3/x-4 + 2 = 5/x-4
Answer by mathstutor458(57)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3/x-4 + 2= 5/x-4
=>[3+2(x-4)]/x-4 = 5/x-4
denominators are same, so, we can cancell it.
remaining equation we get is 3+2x-8=5
=>2x-5=5=>2x=5+5=>x=10/2=5
