First you add like terms so add your q's and get 10q then rewrite your problem so it looks like 10q-15=-1 then sdd the 15 to its self so it cancels out and add it to -1 so its 14 rewrite your problem so it looks 10q=14 then divide 10q by ten because you want q by its self and then divide the 14 by 10 so your final answer is q=14/10.
***Remember what you do to one side you have to do to the other!!
