The object is to get t all by itself on one side of the equation within the rules of algebra. We do that by using the opposite operation to things we want to get rid of on one side of the equation. Remember, whatever you do to one side of the equation you have to do to the other.
I=Prt means I=P*r*t, the opposite of multiplication is division, so:
I=Prt
I/(Pr)=(Prt)/(Pr)
I/(Pr)=t
Remember: P/P=1 and r/r=1 and t*1*1=t
