Question 521169: is the ordered pair (7,8) a solution to the equation x-y=5?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-y=5

7-8=5 ... note: replace x with 7 and y with 8 (since (7,8) means x=7 and y=8)

-1 = 5

Since the last equation is false, the ordered pair is not a solution.
