1st. know your formulas
2nd. know your vocabulary, if you know what you are dealing with it is easier
3rd. if you have trouble with those, make a list and cross off the ones you know by heart and make flashcards for the rest.
4th. start studying early. dont try to cram everything in one night
5th. be organized. if your backpack is a mess it will be harder, trust me.
6th. dont stress, just do your best, and if you think that is not good enough, try a different tactic

You will find pre-Algebra, Algebra, and virtually every other school subject much easier if you first learn to read and follow instructions.

Think of math as a big pyramid. The base is an
understanding of fractions, addition, subtraction,
multiplication, division, our decimal number system.
Then above that is the very basic rules of algebra,
including equations, exponents, more addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division rules.

The point is, if you missed something down below
on the pyramid, you must go back and clear it
up completely, or it will come back to haunt you
later, like a poorly built pyramid.

Eventually, you won't have to keep going back to
clear up things you missed.
