Question 497917: n+21=1/2n+18.5
Answer by Flannery(124) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/2 is .5 so rewrite it thus:
n+21=.5n+18.5
Gather the coefficient terms on the right by subtracting .5n
.5n+21=18.5
Get the coefficient term isolated by subtracting 21
.5n=-2.5
divide each side by .5 to isolate n
n=-5
check
-5+21=.5(-5)+18.5
16=-2.5+18.5
16=16
