Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5 + 3(10-2) + 1 = 17
your Mom is right, (as usual)
do the math inside the brackets first
5 + 3(8) + 1
multiply what's inside the brackets by 3
5 + 24 + 1 = 30
