subtract: (3x^2-2x+5)-(2x^2-5x1)
perhaps you mean
subtract: (3x^2-2x+5)-(2x^2-5x+1)

Remember the rule, when you remove brackets, a minus outside the brackets changes the signs inside the bracket
;
3x^2 - 2x + 5 - 2x^2 + 5x - 1
group the like terms
3x^2 - 2x^2 - 2x + 5x + 5 - 1
do the math
x^2 + 3x + 4
