Question 48287: Find the value of k so that the equation will have exactly on rational solution.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
36x^2+kx+49=0
discriminant = b^2-4ac
discriminat must be zero to have one rational solution
k^2-4(36)(49)=0
k^2=4(36)(49)
k=2(6)(7)
k=+84 or -84
