Question 475551: Geometric Problems:
The perimeter of a rectangle is 120 feet. Use an equation to find the length and width of the rectangle if the length is twice the width.
Use P = 2W + 2L.

Answer by richard1234(7193)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P = 120 = 2W + 2L

Replace "L" with "2W"

120 = 2W + 2(2W) = 6W, W = 20

Since the length is twice the width, L = 40.
