To add or subtract fractions you need to
have a common denominator on the fractions.

least commondenominator is (b-1)(b+1) = b^2-1
------------
Rewrite each fraction with the lcd as its denominator:
[b(b+1)/lcd] + [2b/(lcd]

Combine the numerators over the lcd:

[b^2+b+2b]/lcd
---
Simplify:

= [b^2+3b]/[b^2-1]
