Question 44970: √3x+1+1 = x
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
√(3x+1)+1 = x
sqrt(3x+1)=x-1
Square both sides to get:
3x+1=x^2-2x+1
x^2-5x=0
x(x-5)=0
x=0 or x=5
x=0 is extraneous.
