Question 448617: please help me solve this equation.....n+n/3=600 i have tried a few ways but am not getting 450 like i am supposed to, i have tried...n+n/3=600 multiply both sides by 3 (n+n=1800)then i have (2n=1800) eliminate the 2 by divideing both sides by 2 which gives me N=900.... i have also tried the same thing with the N and got (N=600-N)...please help me figure this one out

Start with the given equation.


Multiply EVERY term by the LCD to clear out the fraction.


Multiply and simplify. This is where you made your mistake. You forgot to multiply the first 'n' by 3.


Combine like terms on the left side.


Divide both sides by to isolate .


Reduce.
