Question 44603: I have this question below and only managed to solve part of it.
In November 1998, the government announced in Parliament a $10.5 billion package to help the country overcome the Asian economic crisis. If the $10.5 billion is to be issued in $2 notes, what will be the volume of all the $2 notes, assuming that a $2 note has a length of 13.3, a width of 6.4 cm and a thickness of 0.15 mm. Give your answer in m^2 (metre square).
Volume = Length x Width x Height
= 3.3 x 6.4 x 0.015 (since 1 mm = 0.1 cm thus 0.15 mm = 0.015 cm)
= 1.2768 x 10 500 000 000 (1 billion = 1,000,000,000)
= 13395900000 cm^3
= 13395.9 m^3 (since 1 m^3 = 1 000 000cm^3)
Unfortunately, my teacher gave us the answer is 6 703.2 m^3.
Please help. Thank you in anticipation.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You do not have 10.5 billion bills, since each is a $2 bill.
If you take half your answer you will be very close to
the teacher's answer.
Don't be too quick to judge.
Cheers,
Stan H.
