Question 418016: find the domain of f(x)=(4-x)/(3+x)

i thought it was (-infinity to -3 union -3 to positive infinity

That is correct, since f(-3) is not defined, we omit this from our domain. To be more mathematically precise, Domain: all x belonging to R(set of Real numbers) such that x is not equal to -3
That is equivalent to what you have set; (-infinity, -3) U (-3, +infinity).
