Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8x/(x+1)=4-8/(x+1)
Multiply through by x+1 to get:
8x=4(x+1)-8
8x=4x+4-8
4x=-4
x=-1
But x cannot be -1 as that would make the denominators zero.
Therefore: there is no solution.

Let us clear all the fractions by multiplying by x+1, so we get
8x/x+1 = 4 - 8/x+1
(x+1)[8x/x+1 = 4 - 8/x+1]
8x = 4(x + 1) - 8
8x = 4x + 4 - 8
8x = 4x - 4
4x = -4
x = -1
But look at the original problem...
x can't be -1 !!
Therefore, there is NO SOLUTION.
