Question 398760: Hi, I am trying to simplify the equation x+x/(x+1/2). On wolfram alpha it indicates the answer is x(2x+3)/2x+1, but I cannot for the life of me get to this answer. I have tried:
x((1/2x+1/2)+1) -> x(1/2(2x+1) + 2(2x+1)/2(2x+1)) -> x(1+2(2x+1)/2(2x+1)
But I'm pretty sure that's not the right path and I don't know where to go from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
