i tried so many times but my teacher said that i am doing it all wrong! i really dont want to fail the test so if you could, please help me solve this!! :)

12 - 24g = 8g + 8 = ??

I assume you want to solve for g:
12 - 24g = 8g + 8
Add 24g
12 = 32g + 8
Subtract 8
4 = 32g
g = 4/32
g = 1/8
