Question 388704: 4^x+4^(1/x)=18
Answer by Jk22(389)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4^x+4^(1/x)=18

Suppose x is integer, then 4^x is integer, so should 4^(1/x) be, which is the case only for x=1 (not a solution), or x=2.

x=2 is a solution, hence x=1/2 too.
