Hello,
The key to this is getting x all by itself. -8(x-1)=6x+9 Rewrite this as:
-8x+8=6x+9
Add 8x and subtract 9 from boths ides to get:
-1=14x
Now divide by 14 to result in:
x=-1/14
Make sense?
