Question 32086: what would be me first step to solve this formula 3x6squared-2/6?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since there are no parentheses you perform
two scans from left to right.
!st scan: perform multiplication and division as they occur
2nd scan: perform addition and subtraction as they occur
In your problem:
1st scan gives 3(36)-1/3
108-1/3
2nd scan gives 107 2/3

Stan H.
