add 6x to both sides
Divide by 2

-4x = 10 - 6x
first put together the like terms and we get..
-4x + 6x = 10
solve LHS and we get
2x = 10
divide both sides 2 and we get
x = 5
Now if you want to verify you answer ,,,you can put the values of x in the equation and if you get LHS = RHS,,,this means that you answer is correct..
