Question 28640: Ben sold 50 tickets for the basketball game. Adult tickets coast $5.00 and students $3.00 Ben collected $180. How many adult tickets did he sell? How many student tickets did he sell? I think the answer is 35 children and 15 adults. I got this through process of elimination. I've tried x+y=50
5x+3y=50.

That's very good, but the second equation you must have typed wrong, it should be;
5x+3y=180
