There is no "proper" method to solve this system. You can use Substitution, Elimination, or Cramer's rule. All of these methods, properly performed, will lead to the correct solution set of this system.

For my money, the elimination method seems like the quickest and easiest. Just multiply the 2nd equation by 5...
