Do both problems =7?
2n-3n=?
2a-3a=7
You can subtract them,becuase they are like terms;
2a-3a=7
-a=7
No you do not want to leave x as negative, so you need to divide each side by -1;
=
a=-7
If the first equation =7, you would solve it the same way.
