Ok, I am having trouble with the #'s before the braces. I am unsure when to multiply these #. Also, I am having trouble with when I am to add/subtract the 7x and 4x. Also, knowing that we change the sign for everything after the negative, do we change the sign in the third step? Thank you very very much...I appreciate any help that could simplify the book illustrations. Again, Thanks

I am not really sure what you are asking, #'s outside braces should be distributed.It would be better if you posted the problem and then I would solve it step by step. That would propably help you more.
