Question 252962: system of equations by additon method: 5x-2/5y=28 2x+3/2y=39/2 ? On this problem can I convert the fraction to 2/3 and 2/39 in the second equation? I hate fractions. I need help on this one!
Answer by drk(1908) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Here are the original; equations:
(i)
(ii)
Since you are not a fan of fractions, multiply (i) by 5 and then (ii) by 2 to get
(iii)
(iv)
Now multiply (iii) by 3 and (iv) by 2 to get
(v)
(vi)
add down and solve for x.
Now find y.
