Question 246089: Can you help solve:
(3x+3y+3)/9x / (x^2+2xy+y^2-1)/(x^4+x^2)
I know I can multiply the equation and thus change it to:
(3x+3y+3)/9x * (x^4+x^2)/(x^2+2xy+y^2-1)
Then I am stumped.
I appreciate the help

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(3x+3y+3)/9x / (x^2+2xy+y^2-1)/(x^4+x^2)
(3x+3y+3)/9x * (x^4+x^2)/(x^2+2xy+y^2-1)
NOW YOU CROSS MULTIPLY.
(3X+3Y+3)(X^4+X^2)/9X(X^2+2XY+Y^2-1) NOW FACTOR THESE TERMS
3(X+Y+1)X^2(X^2+1)/9X[(X+Y)(X+Y)-1] NOW REDUCE THE FRACTION 3/9 TO 1/3 & THE X TERMS BY X^2/X TO X/1.
(X+Y+1)X(X^2+1)/3[(X+Y)^2-1]
X(X+Y+1)(X62+1)/3[X+Y)^2-1] ANS.
