This is the equation:
(4x/x-2) = x+ (8/x-2)
This is what I did to get my answer:
(4x/x-2) = x+ (8/x-2)
4x = x(x-2) + 8
4x = - 2x + 8
-4x -4x
- 6x + 8
(x-4)(x-2)

Your help would be greatly appreciate, as I desperately need it!

(4x/x-2) = x+ (8/x-2)
This is what I did to get my answer:
(4x/x-2) = x+ (8/x-2)
4x = x(x-2) + 8
----------------
4x = x^2 - 2x + 8
x^2 - 6x + 8 = 0
(x-4)*(x-2) = 0
x = 4
x = 2 (2 causes the dreaded "Divide by 0" error, so reject it)

I don't see how you did, but you got to the same place.
4x = - 2x + 8
-4x -4x
- 6x + 8
(x-4)(x-2)

although you have the right idea
