You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You must know the following Rule: log a - log b = log (a/b).
If you do you see your problem can be rewritten as follows:
log(2x+3)- log(4x) = 2
log [2x+3}/[4x] = 2
Now, assuming the base is "10" you get;
[2x+3]/[4x} = 10^2
Then 2x+3 = 100(4x)
Then 3 = 398x
Finally x = 3/398
Cheers,

Hi, thanks for writing!

**Pretend that parentheses are around the 2x+3 and 4x, for some reason, they don't show up here.
So we have;
log%282x%2B3%29=log%284x%29%2B2
Subtract the log on the right side over to the left side;
log%282x%2B3%29-log%284x%29=2
Now use your log property to turn the left side into one log;log%28a%29-log%28b%29=log%28a%2Fb%29
log%28%282x%2B3%29%2F%284x%29%29=2
Now use the inverse log property, 10%5Elog%28u%29=u (u is a function)
%282x%2B3%29%2F%284x%29=100
Rewrite 100 as 100/1
%282x%2B3%29%2F%284x%29=100%2F1
Cross multiply;
400x=2x%2B3
Solve for x;
398x=3
x+=+3%2F398+
x=0.0075376884422110552763819095477387
x%28ALMOST%29+=+0.008
There you go!
