5x:9x-16 is very simple....You take 9x from both sides
-4x equals -16 so x equals positive 4 because -4 times 4 is -16

ok. you have:
5x=9x-16
you want to get the value of "x"
so what you do is take [9x] from 5x and 9x as shown below:
5x = 9x-16
-9x -9x
------------
u cross out the two 9x and -9x so you will have
-4x=-16
divide -4 to each side
so x=4
