Question 230079: g+(g-32)=126
what does g=

Answer by rapaljer(4671)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
g+(g-2)=126
1g+1g-2=126

Combine like terms:
2g-2=126

Now, you need to "undo" TWO operations. Notice that the g was MULTIPLIED by 2, then 2 was SUBTRACTED from this, resulting in 126. You need to do the OPPOSITE operations, IN REVERSE ORDER to undo this situation and leave the g all alone.

First, add +2 to each side:
2g-2 +2 = 126+2
2g=128

Now, UNDO the multiplication by 2 by DIVIDING both sides by 2:

Check if you want to:
g + (g-2)= 126
64+(64-2)=126
64+62=126

It checks!
