Question 22392: Show each step in simplifying the following rational expressions. Also explain what a simplified rational expression looks like (how you know it is simplified).
(2x^2 - 7x + 3)/(9 - x^2)

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Factor where you can so you can cancel like factors.
Your problem becomes:
[(2x-1)(x-3)/-(x-3)(x+3)]
Cancel the "x-3" factors to get:
(2x-1)/-(x+3)= -(2x-1)/(x+3)
You know this is simplified because you cannot further
factor these factors.
