Question 21314: Solve: 7/y - 1/3 = 1/4

I have the answer - need to know the steps to get there.

Answer by elima(1433)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7/y - 1/3 = 1/4
First you need to add to each side;
-+=+
Find common denominators of so you can add;
=+
=
Now multiply each side by y;
(y)=(y)
7=y
Multiply each side by the reciporcal of , which is ;
7=y
The 7's cancel each other out on the right side, and on the left *cancel's out;
12=y
Hope you understand
