How do you find length and width of rectangle if perimeter is 50cm, when the sides are (4a-3)cm and (2a+7)cm.

Let the width be 4a-3; let the length be 2a+7
-----------------------------------------------
Perimeter = 2(L + W)
50 = 2(4a-3+2a+7)
25 = 6a+4
6a = 21
a = 7/2
--------------
width = 4(7/2)-3 = 11 cm
length = 2(7/2)-3 = 4 cm
